Pull crypto library updates from Eric Biggers:
"This is the main crypto library pull request for 6.19. It includes:
- Add SHA-3 support to lib/crypto/, including support for both the
hash functions and the extendable-output functions. Reimplement the
existing SHA-3 crypto_shash support on top of the library.
This is motivated mainly by the upcoming support for the ML-DSA
signature algorithm, which needs the SHAKE128 and SHAKE256
functions. But even on its own it's a useful cleanup.
This also fixes the longstanding issue where the
architecture-optimized SHA-3 code was disabled by default.
- Add BLAKE2b support to lib/crypto/, and reimplement the existing
BLAKE2b crypto_shash support on top of the library.
This is motivated mainly by btrfs, which supports BLAKE2b
checksums. With this change, all btrfs checksum algorithms now have
library APIs. btrfs is planned to start just using the library
directly.
This refactor also improves consistency between the BLAKE2b code
and BLAKE2s code. And as usual, it also fixes the issue where the
architecture-optimized BLAKE2b code was disabled by default.
- Add POLYVAL support to lib/crypto/, replacing the existing POLYVAL
support in crypto_shash. Reimplement HCTR2 on top of the library.
This simplifies the code and improves HCTR2 performance. As usual,
it also makes the architecture-optimized code be enabled by
default. The generic implementation of POLYVAL is greatly improved
as well.

crypto: s390/sha3 - Remove superseded SHA-3 code
The SHA-3 library now utilizes the same s390 SHA-3 acceleration capabilities as the arch/s390/crypto/ SHA-3 crypto_shash algorithms. Moreover, crypto/sha3.c now uses the SHA-3 library. The result is that all SHA-3 APIs are now s390-accelerated without any need for the old SHA-3 code in arch/s390/crypto/. Remove this superseded code. Also update the s390 defconfig and debug_defconfig files to enable CONFIG_CRYPTO_SHA3 instead of CONFIG_CRYPTO_SHA3_256_S390 and CONFIG_CRYPTO_SHA3_512_S390. This makes it so that the s390-optimized SHA-3 continues to be built when either of these defconfigs is used. implementing NUMA-aware locking. This improves UDP RX performance
by an additional 50%, even more under extreme conditions
- Add support for PSP encryption of TCP connections; this mechanism
has some similarities with IPsec and TLS, but offers superior HW
offloads capabilities
- Ongoing work to support Accurate ECN for TCP. AccECN allows more
than one congestion notification signal per RTT and is a building
block for Low Latency, Low Loss, and Scalable Throughput (L4S)
- Reorganize the TCP socket binary layout for data locality, reducing
the number of touched cachelines in the fastpath
- Refactor skb deferral free to better scale on large multi-NUMA
hosts, this improves TCP and UDP RX performances significantly on
such HW
- Increase the default socket memory buffer limits from 256K to 4M to
better fit modern link speeds
- Improve handling of setups with a large number of nexthop, making
dump operating scaling linearly and avoiding unneeded
synchronize_rcu() on delete
- Improve bridge handling of VLAN FDB, storing a single entry per
bridge instead of one entry per port; this makes the dump order of
magnitude faster on large switches
- Restore IP ID correctly for encapsulated packets at GSO
segmentation time, allowing GRO to merge packets in more scenarios
- Improve netfilter matching performance on large sets
- Improve MPTCP receive path performance by leveraging recently
introduced core infrastructure (skb deferral free) and adopting
recent TCP autotuning changes
- Allow bridges to redirect to a backup port when the bridge port is
administratively down
- Introduce MPTCP 'laminar' endpoint that con be used only once per
connection and simplify common MPTCP setups
- Add RCU safety to dst->dev, closing a lot of possible races
- A significant crypto library API for SCTP, MPTCP and IPv6 SR,
reducing code duplication
- Supports pulling data from an skb frag into the linear area of an
XDP buffer

Remove bcachefs core code
bcachefs was marked 'externally maintained' in 6.17 but the code remained to make the transition smoother. dibs: Move event handling to dibs layer
Add defines for all event types and subtypes an ism device is known to produce as it can be helpful for debugging purposes. Introduces a generic 'struct dibs_event' and adopt ism device driver and smc-d client accordingly. Tolerate and ignore other type and subtype values to enable future device extensions. SMC-D and ISM are now independent. struct ism_dev can be moved to drivers/s390/net/ism.h. Note that in smc, the term 'ism' is still used. Future patches could replace that with 'dibs' or 'smc-d' as appropriate. dibs: Define dibs_client_ops and dibs_dev_ops
Move the device add() and remove() functions from ism_client to
dibs_client_ops and call add_dev()/del_dev() for ism devices and
dibs_loopback devices. dibs_client_ops->add_dev() = smcd_register_dev() for
the smc_dibs_client. This is the first step to handle ism and loopback
devices alike (as dibs devices) in the smc dibs client.
Define dibs_dev->ops and move smcd_ops->get_chid to
dibs_dev_ops->get_fabric_id() for ism and loopback devices. See below for
why this needs to be in the same patch as dibs_client_ops->add_dev().
The following changes contain intermediate steps, that will be obsoleted by
follow-on patches, once more functionality has been moved to dibs:
Use different smcd_ops and max_dmbs for ism and loopback. Follow-on patches
will change SMC-D to directly use dibs_ops instead of smcd_ops.
In smcd_register_dev() it is now necessary to identify a dibs_loopback
device before smcd_dev and smcd_ops->get_chid() are available. So provide
dibs_dev_ops->get_fabric_id() in this patch and evaluate it in
smc_ism_is_loopback().
Call smc_loopback_init() in smcd_register_dev() and call
smc_loopback_exit() in smcd_unregister_dev() to handle the functionality
that is still in smc_loopback. Follow-on patches will move all smc_loopback
code to dibs_loopback.
In smcd_[un]register_dev() use only ism device name, this will be replaced
by dibs device name by a follow-on patch.
End of changes with intermediate parts.
Allocate an smcd event workqueue for all dibs devices, although
dibs_loopback does not generate events.
Use kernel memory instead of devres memory for smcd_dev and smcd->conn.

dibs: Define dibs loopback
The first stage of loopback-ism was implemented as part of the SMC module [1]. Now that we have the dibs layer, provide access to a dibs_loopback device to all dibs clients. This is the first step of moving loopback-ism from net/smc/smc_loopback.* to drivers/dibs/dibs_loopback.*. One global structure lo_dev is allocated and added to the dibs devices. Follow-on patches will move functionality. Same as smc_loopback, dibs_loopback is provided by a config option. Note that there is no way to dynamically add or remove the loopback device. That could be a future improvement. When moving code to drivers/dibs, replace ism_ prefix with dibs_ prefix. As this is mostly a move of existing code, copyright and authors are unchanged. dibs: Register smc as dibs_client
Formally register smc as dibs client. Functionality will be moved by follow-on patches from ism_client to dibs_client until eventually ism_client can be removed. As DIBS is only a shim layer without any dependencies, we can depend SMC on DIBS without adding indirect dependencies. A follow-on patch will remove dependency of SMC on ISM. crypto: curve25519 - Remove unused kpp support
Curve25519 has both a library API and a crypto_kpp API. However, the crypto_kpp API for Curve25519 had no users outside crypto/testmgr.c. I.e., no non-test code ever passed "curve25519" to crypto_alloc_kpp(). Remove this unused code. We'll instead focus on the Curve25519 library API (<crypto/curve25519.h>), which is a simpler and easier-to-use API and is the API that is actually being used. Instead of exposing the s390-optimized SHA-1 code via s390-specific crypto_shash algorithms, instead just implement the sha1_blocks() library function. This is much simpler, it makes the SHA-1 library functions be s390-optimized, and it fixes the longstanding issue where the s390-optimized SHA-1 code was disabled by default. SHA-1 still remains available through crypto_shash, but individual architectures no longer need to handle it. crypto: s390 - New s390 specific protected key hash phmac
Add support for protected key hmac ("phmac") for s390 arch.
With the latest machine generation there is now support for
protected key (that is a key wrapped by a master key stored
in firmware) hmac for sha2 (sha224, sha256, sha384 and sha512)
for the s390 specific CPACF instruction kmac.
This patch adds support via 4 new ahashes registered as
phmac(sha224), phmac(sha256), phmac(sha384) and phmac(sha512).

The negative-sense of CRYPTO_MANAGER_DISABLE_TESTS is a longstanding mistake that regularly causes confusion. Especially bad is that you can have CRYPTO=n && CRYPTO_MANAGER_DISABLE_TESTS=n, which is ambiguous. Replace CRYPTO_MANAGER_DISABLE_TESTS with CRYPTO_SELFTESTS which has the expected behavior. s390/configs: Enable options required for TC flow offload
While testing Open vSwitch with Nvidia ConnectX-6 NIC, it was noticed that it didn't offload TC flows into the NIC, and its log contained many messages such as: "failed to offload flow: No such file or directory: <network device name>" and, upon enabling more versose logging, additionally: "received NAK error=2 - TC classifier not found" The options enabled here are listed as requirements in Nvidia online documentation, among other options that were already enabled. Now all options listed by Nvidia are enabled.. s390/configs: Enable VDPA on Nvidia ConnectX-6 network card
ConnectX-6 is the first VDPA-capable NIC. For earlier NICs, Nvidia implements a VDPA emulation in s/w, which hasn't been validated on s390. Add options necessary for VDPA to work. No runtime effects are anticipated. - The series "mm/madvise: remove redundant mmap_lock operations from process_madvise()" from SeongJae Park rationalizes the locking in the madvise() implementation. Performance gains of 20-25% were observed in one MADV_DONTNEED microbenchmark. - The series "Tiny cleanup and improvements about SWAP code" from Baoquan He contains a number of touchups to issues which Baoquan noticed when working on the swap code. - The series "mm: kmemleak: Usability improvements" from Catalin Marinas implements a couple of improvements to the kmemleak user-visible output. - The series "mm/damon/paddr: fix large folios access and schemes handling" from Usama Arif provides a couple of fixes for DAMON's handling of large folios. - The series "mm/damon/core: fix wrong and/or useless damos_walk() behaviors" from SeongJae Park fixes a few issues with the accuracy of kdamond's walking of DAMON regions. - The series "expose mapping wrprotect, fix fb_defio use" from Lorenzo Stoakes changes the interaction between framebuffer deferred-io and core MM. mm: zbud: remove zbud
The zbud compressed pages allocator is rarely used, most users use zsmalloc. zbud consumes much more memory (only stores 1 or 2 compressed pages per physical page). The only advantage of zbud is a marginal performance improvement that by no means justify the memory overhead. Historically, zsmalloc had significantly worse latency than zbud and z3fold but offered better memory savings. This is no longer the case as shown by a simple recent analysis [1]. In a kernel build test on tmpfs in a limited cgroup, zbud 2-3% less time than zsmalloc, but at the cost of using ~32% more memory (1.5G vs 1.13G). The tradeoff does not make sense for zbud in any practical scenario. The only alleged advantage of zbud is not having the dependency on CONFIG_MMU, but CONFIG_SWAP already depends on CONFIG_MMU anyway, and zbud is only used by zswap. Remove zbud after z3fold's removal, leaving zsmalloc as the one and only zpool allocator. Leave the removal of the zpool API (and its associated config options) to a followup cleanup after no more allocators show up. Deprecating zbud for a few cycles before removing it was initially proposed [2], like z3fold was marked as deprecated for 2 cycles [3]. However, Johannes rightfully pointed out that the 2 cycles is too short for most downstream consumers, and z3fold was deprecated first only as a courtesy anyway. s390/mm: Add configurable STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS
Add support for configurable STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS. The s390 ABI defines that return values with complex types like structures and unions are returned in a return value buffer allocated by the caller. This is also true for small structures and unions which would fit into a register. On the other hand when such types are passed as arguments to functions they are passed in registers, if they are small enough. This leads to inefficient code when such a return value of a function call is then passed as argument to a subsequent function call. This is especially true for all mm types, like pte_t and others, which are only for type checking reasons defined as a structure. This however can be bypassed with the STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS feature, which is used by a few other architectures, which seem to have the same problem. Add CONFIG_STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS which can be used to change the type of pte_t and other structures. If the config option is not enabled the types are defined to unsigned long, allowing for better code generation, however there is no type checking anymore. If it is enabled the types are structures like before so that type checking is performed, but less efficient code is generated. The option is always enabled in debug_defconfig, and for convenience an mmtypes.config topic target is added, which allows to easily enable it, in case memory management code is changed. CONFIG_STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS and STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS are kept separate, since STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS is common across architectures and common code. Therefore use the same define also for s390 code. Add CONFIG_STRICT_MM_TYPECHECKS to make it build time configurable. s390: Sort mcount locations at build time
For s390 the mcount_loc section of the kernel image contains the addresses
of the mcount locations. All addresses will be adjusted with the same
offset by the decompressor before the kernel is started.
Therefore select HAVE_BUILDTIME_MCOUNT_SORT so that the entries of this
section are sorted at build time. Given that the same offset is applied to
all entries the section will be sorted in any case.
Note that this was not possible before commit

s390/configs: Remove CONFIG_LSM
s390 defconfig does not have BPF LSM, resulting in
systemd[1]: bpf-restrict-fs: BPF LSM hook not enabled in the kernel, BPF LSM not supported.
with the respective kernels. The other architectures do not explicitly
set it, and the default values have BPF in them, so just drop it.

crypto: keywrap - remove unused keywrap algorithm
The keywrap (kw) algorithm has no in-tree user. It has never had an in-tree user, and the patch that added it provided no justification for its inclusion. Even use of it via AF_ALG is impossible, as it uses a weird calling convention where part of the ciphertext is returned via the IV buffer, which is not returned to userspace in AF_ALG. It's also unclear whether any new code in the kernel that does key wrapping would actually use this algorithm. It is controversial in the cryptographic community due to having no clearly stated security goal, no security proof, poor performance, and only a 64-bit auth tag. Later work (https://eprint.iacr.org/2006/221) suggested that the goal is deterministic authenticated encryption. But there are now more modern algorithms for this, and this is not the same as key wrapping, for which a regular AEAD such as AES-GCM usually can be (and is) used instead. Therefore, remove this unused code. There were several special cases for this algorithm in the self-tests, due to its weird calling convention. Remove those too. s390/crc32: expose CRC32 functions through lib
Move the s390 CRC32 assembly code into the lib directory and wire it up to the library interface. This allows it to be used without going through the crypto API. It remains usable via the crypto API too via the shash algorithms that use the library interface. Thus all the arch-specific "shash" code becomes unnecessary and is removed. depending on compiler version better code can be generated
- List installed host-key hashes in sysfs if the machine supports the
Query Ultravisor Keys UVC
- Add 'Retrieve Secret' ioctl which allows user space in protected
execution guests to retrieve previously stored secrets from the
Ultravisor
- Add pkey-uv module which supports the conversion of Ultravisor
retrievable secrets to protected keys
- Extend the existing paes cipher to exploit the full AES-XTS hardware
acceleration introduced with message-security assist extension 10
- Convert hopefully all sysfs show functions to use sysfs_emit() so
that the constant flow of such patches stop
- For PCI devices make use of the newly added Topology ID attribute to
enable whole card multi-function support despite the change to PCHID
per port. Additionally improve the overall robustness and usability
of the multifunction support

s390/pkey: Add new pkey handler module pkey-uv
This new pkey handler module supports the conversion of Ultravisor retrievable secrets to protected keys. The new module pkey-uv.ko is able to retrieve and verify protected keys backed up by the Ultravisor layer which is only available within protected execution environment. The module is only automatically loaded if there is the UV CPU feature flagged as available. Additionally on module init there is a check for protected execution environment and for UV supporting retrievable secrets. Also if the kernel is not running as a protected execution guest, the module unloads itself with errno ENODEV. Pull x86 kvm updates from Paolo Bonzini:
"x86:
- KVM currently invalidates the entirety of the page tables, not just
those for the memslot being touched, when a memslot is moved or
deleted.
This does not traditionally have particularly noticeable overhead,
but Intel's TDX will require the guest to re-accept private pages
if they are dropped from the secure EPT, which is a non starter.
Actually, the only reason why this is not already being done is a
bug which was never fully investigated and caused VM instability
with assigned GeForce GPUs, so allow userspace to opt into the new
behavior.
- Advertise AVX10.1 to userspace (effectively prep work for the
"real" AVX10 functionality that is on the horizon)
- Rework common MSR handling code to suppress errors on userspace
accesses to unsupported-but-advertised MSRs
This will allow removing (almost?) all of KVM's exemptions for
userspace access to MSRs that shouldn't exist based on the vCPU
model (the actual cleanup is non-trivial future work)
- Rework KVM's handling of x2APIC ICR, again, because AMD (x2AVIC)
splits the 64-bit value into the legacy ICR and ICR2 storage,
whereas Intel (APICv) stores the entire 64-bit value at the ICR
offset
- Fix a bug where KVM would fail to exit to userspace if one was
triggered by a fastpath exit handler
- Add fastpath handling of HLT VM-Exit to expedite re-entering the
guest when there's already a pending wake event at the time of the
exit
- Fix a WARN caused by RSM entering a nested guest from SMM with
invalid guest state, by forcing the vCPU out of guest mode prior to
signalling SHUTDOWN (the SHUTDOWN hits the VM altogether, not the
nested guest)
- Overhaul the "unprotect and retry" logic to more precisely identify
cases where retrying is actually helpful, and to harden all retry
paths against putting the guest into an infinite retry loop
- Add support for yielding, e.g. to honor NEED_RESCHED, when zapping
rmaps in the shadow MMU
- Refactor pieces of the shadow MMU related to aging SPTEs in
prepartion for adding multi generation LRU support in KVM
- Don't stuff the RSB after VM-Exit when RETPOLINE=y and AutoIBRS is
enabled, i.e. when the CPU has already flushed the RSB
- Trace the per-CPU host save area as a VMCB pointer to improve
readability and cleanup the retrieval of the SEV-ES host save area
- Remove unnecessary accounting of temporary nested VMCB related
allocations
- Set FINAL/PAGE in the page fault error code for EPT violations if
and only if the GVA is valid. If the GVA is NOT valid, there is no
guest-side page table walk and so stuffing paging related metadata
is nonsensical
- Fix a bug where KVM would incorrectly synthesize a nested VM-Exit
instead of emulating posted interrupt delivery to L2
- Add a lockdep assertion to detect unsafe accesses of vmcs12
structures
- Harden eVMCS loading against an impossible NULL pointer deref
(really truly should be impossible)
- Minor SGX fix and a cleanup
- Misc cleanups
Generic:
- Register KVM's cpuhp and syscore callbacks when enabling
virtualization in hardware, as the sole purpose of said callbacks
is to disable and re-enable virtualization as needed
- Enable virtualization when KVM is loaded, not right before the
first VM is created
Together with the previous change, this simplifies a lot the logic
of the callbacks, because their very existence implies
virtualization is enabled
- Fix a bug that results in KVM prematurely exiting to userspace for
coalesced MMIO/PIO in many cases, clean up the related code, and
add a testcase
- Fix a bug in kvm_clear_guest() where it would trigger a buffer
overflow _if_ the gpa+len crosses a page boundary, which thankfully
is guaranteed to not happen in the current code base. Add WARNs in
more helpers that read/write guest memory to detect similar bugs
Selftests:
- Fix a goof that caused some Hyper-V tests to be skipped when run on
bare metal, i.e. NOT in a VM
- Add a regression test for KVM's handling of SHUTDOWN for an SEV-ES
guest
- Explicitly include one-off assets in .gitignore. Past Sean was
completely wrong about not being able to detect missing .gitignore
entries
- Verify userspace single-stepping works when KVM happens to handle a
VM-Exit in its fastpath
- Misc cleanups"
