gadget_match_driver() takes a const pointer, and then decides to cast it
away into a non-const one, which is not a good thing to do overall. Fix
this up by properly setting the pointers to be const to preserve that
attribute.

We identified a bug where the ST_RC bit in the status register was not
being acknowledged after clearing the CTRL_RUN bit in the control
register. This could lead to unexpected behavior in the USB gadget
drivers.
This patch resolves the issue by adding the necessary code to explicitly
acknowledge ST_RC after clearing CTRL_RUN based on the programming
sequence, ensuring proper state transition.

These drivers have no way to probe as there are no match tables nor
devices created with a matching name in the kernel tree.
Marvell UDC was only ever supported by board files which were removed
in 2022.
For Marvell U3D, which was added in 2012, the PXA2128 aka MMP3 support
was never upstreamed with board files and only revived in 2019 with DT
support. No U3D DT support has been added since then.
The PLX net2272 driver was formerly used on blackfin. It also has PCI
support, but that appears to be only for a development board which is
likely unused given this device dates back to 2006.

Replace ternary (condition ? "enable" : "disable") syntax with helpers
from string_choices.h because:
1. Simple function call with one argument is easier to read. Ternary
operator has three arguments and with wrapping might lead to quite
long code.
2. Is slightly shorter thus also easier to read.
3. It brings uniformity in the text - same string.
4. Allows deduping by the linker, which results in a smaller binary
file.

The syzbot fuzzer has been encountering "task hung" problems ever
since the dummy-hcd driver was changed to use hrtimers instead of
regular timers. It turns out that the problems are caused by a subtle
difference between the timer_pending() and hrtimer_active() APIs.
The changeover blindly replaced the first by the second. However,
timer_pending() returns True when the timer is queued but not when its
callback is running, whereas hrtimer_active() returns True when the
hrtimer is queued _or_ its callback is running. This difference
occasionally caused dummy_urb_enqueue() to think that the callback
routine had not yet started when in fact it was almost finished. As a
result the hrtimer was not restarted, which made it impossible for the
driver to dequeue later the URB that was just enqueued. This caused
usb_kill_urb() to hang, and things got worse from there.
Since hrtimers have no API for telling when they are queued and the
callback isn't running, the driver must keep track of this for itself.
That's what this patch does, adding a new "timer_pending" flag and
setting or clearing it at the appropriate times.

After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.
Convert all platform drivers below drivers/usb to use .remove(), with
the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As
.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done
by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

Make sure the descriptor has been set before looking at maxpacket.
This fixes a null pointer panic in this case.
This may happen if the gadget doesn't properly set up the endpoint
for the current speed, or the gadget descriptors are malformed and
the descriptor for the speed/endpoint are not found.
No current gadget driver is known to have this problem, but this
may cause a hard-to-find bug during development of new gadgets.

rust drivers being added, but it's a great first step.

This work is being done to help make the rust bindings more safe,
as well as the C code, moving toward the end-goal of allowing us to

In the match() callback, the struct device_driver * should not be
changed, so change the function callback to be a const *. This is one
step of many towards making the driver core safe to have struct
device_driver in read-only memory.
Because the match() callback is in all busses, all busses are modified
to handle this properly. This does entail switching some container_of()
calls to container_of_const() to properly handle the constant *.
For some busses, like PCI and USB and HV, the const * is cast away in
the match callback as those busses do want to modify those structures at
this point in time (they have a local lock in the driver structure.)
That will have to be changed in the future if they wish to have their
struct device * in read-only-memory.

In the aspeed UDC setup, we configure the UDC hardware with the assigned
USB device address.
However, we have an off-by-one in the bitmask, so we're only setting the
lower 6 bits of the address (USB addresses being 7 bits, and the
hardware bitmask being bits 0:6).
This means that device enumeration fails if the assigned address is
greater than 64:

Use the correct mask of 0x7f (rather than 0x3f), and generate this
through the GENMASK macro, so we have numbers that correspond exactly
to the hardware register definition.

With the rework of how the __string() handles dynamic strings where it
saves off the source string in field in the helper structure[1], the
assignment of that value to the trace event field is stored in the helper
value and does not need to be passed in again.
This means that with:
__string(field, mystring)
Which use to be assigned with __assign_str(field, mystring), no longer
needs the second parameter and it is unused. With this, __assign_str()
will now only get a single parameter.
There's over 700 users of __assign_str() and because coccinelle does not
handle the TRACE_EVENT() macro I ended up using the following sed script:

I then searched for __assign_str() that did not end with ';' as those

I tested this with both an allmodconfig and an allyesconfig (build only for both).

Currently, the transfer polling interval is set to 1ms, which is the
frame rate of full-speed and low-speed USB. The USB 2.0 specification
introduces microframes (125 microseconds) to improve the timing
precision of data transfers.
Reducing the transfer interval to 1 microframe increases data throughput
for high-speed and super-speed USB communication

The driver_desc variable is only used in some configurations:
drivers/usb/gadget/udc/omap_udc.c:113:19: error: unused variable 'driver_desc' [-Werror,-Wunused-const-variable]
Since there is only ever one user of it, just open-code the string in place
and remove the global variable and the macro behind it. This also helps
grep for the MODULE_DESCRIPTION string.
