5187e03b81 iio: dac: ds4424: reject -128 RAW value
The DS442x DAC uses sign-magnitude encoding, so -128 cannot be represented
in hardware (7-bit magnitude).

Previously, passing -128 resulted in a truncated value that programmed
0mA (magnitude 0) instead of the expected maximum negative current,
effectively failing silently.

Reject -128 to avoid producing the wrong current.

69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

9991bbc6d5 Merge tag 'iio-for-7.0a' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio into char-misc-next
Jonathan writes:

IIO: New device support, features and cleanup for the 6.20/7.0 cycle.

Slightly messier than normal unfortunately due to some conflicts
and build config bugs related to I3C drivers.

One last minute Kconfig fix right at the top after a linux-next report.
I've simplified the Kconfig and made it match other instances in the kernel
so that should be safe enough despite short soak time in front of build bots.

Merge of an immutable branch from I3C to get some stubs that were missing
and caused build issues with dual I2C / I3C drivers. This also brought in a
drop of some deprecated interfaces so there is also one patch to update a
new driver to not use those.

We are having another go at using cleanup.h magic with the IIO mode claim
functions after backing out last try at this. This time we have wrappers
around the new ACQUIRE() and ACQUIRE_ERR() macros.
Having been burnt once, we will be taking it a bit more slowly this time
wrt to wide adoption of these! Thanks in particular to Kurt for taking
on this core IIO work.

New Device Support
==================

adi,ad18113
- New driver to support the AD18113 amplifier - an interesting device due
to the external bypass paths where we need to describe what gain those
paths have in DT. Longer term it will be interesting to see if this
simplistic description is enough for real deployments.
adi,ad4062
- New driver for the AD4060 and AD4052 SAR ADCs including trigger, event
and GPIO controller support. Follow up patch replaced use of some
deprecated I3C interfaces prior to the I3C immutable branch merge as
  that includes dropping them.
adi,ad4134
- New driver for the AD4134 24bit 4 channel simultaneous sampling ADC.
adi,ad7768-1,
- Add support for the ADAQ767-1, ADAQ7768-1 and ADAQ7769-1 ADCs after some
rework to enable the driver to support multiple device types.
adi,ad9467
- Add support for the similar ad9211 ADC to this existing driver.
- Make the selection of 2s comp mode explicit for normal operation and
switch to offset binary when entering calibration mode.
honeywell,abp2
- New driver to support this huge family (100+) of board mount pressure and
  temperature sensors.
maxim,max22007
- New drier for this 4 channel DAC.
memsic,mmc5633
- New driver for this I2C/I3C magnetometer. Follow on patches fixed up
issues related to single driver supporting both bus types.
microchip,mcp747feb02
- New driver for the Microchip MCP47F(E/V)B(0/1/2)1,
  MCP47F(E/V)B(0/1/2)2, MCP47F(E/V)B(0/1/2)4 and MCP47F(E/V)B(0/1/2)8
  buffered voltage output DACs.
nxp,sar-adc
- New driver support ADCs found on s32g2 and s32g3 platforms.
ti,ads1018
- New drier for the ADS1018 and ADS1118 SPI ADCs.
ti,ads131m02
- New driver supporting ADS131M(02/03/04/06/08)24-bit simultaneous sampling
  ADCs.

Features
========

iio-core
- New IIO_DEV_ACQUIRE_DIRECT_MODE() / IIO_DEV_ACQUIRE_FAILED() +
equivalents for the much rarer case where the mode needs pinning
whether or not it is in direct mode. These use the ACQUIRE()
/ ACQUIRE_ERR() infrastructure underneath to provide both simple
checks on whether we got the requested mode and to provide scope
based release. Applied in a few initial drivers.
adi,ad9467
- Support calibbias control
adi,adf4377
- Add support to act as a clock provider.
adi,adxl380
- Support low power 1KHz sampling frequency mode. Required rework of
how events and filters were configured, plus applying of constraints
  when in this mode.
rf-digital,rfd77402
- Add interrupt support as alternative to polling for completion.
st,lsm6dsx
- Tap event detection (after considerable driver rework)

Cleanup and Minor Fixes
=======================

More minor cleanup such as typos, white space etc not called out except
where they were applied to a lot of drivers.

Various drivers.
- Use of dev_err_probe() to cleanup error handling.
- Introduce local struct device and struct device_node variables to
reduce duplication of getting them from containing structs.
- Ensure uses of iio_trigger_generic_data_rdy_poll() set IRQF_NO_THREAD
as that function calls non threaded child interrupt handlers.
- Replace IRQF_ONESHOT in not thread interrupt handlers with
IRQF_NO_THREAD to ensure they run as intended. Drop one unnecessary case.
iio-sw-device/trigger.
- Constify configs_group_operations structures.
iio-buffer-dma / buffer-dma-engine
- Use lockdep_assert_held() to replace WARN_ON() to check lock is
  correctly held.
- Make use of cleanup.h magic to simplify various code paths.
- Make iio_dma_buffer_init() return void rather than always success.

adi,ad7766
- Replace custom interrupt handler with iio_trigger_generic_data_rdy_poll()
adi,ad9832
- Drop legacy platform_data support.
adi,ade9000
- Add a maintainer entry.
adi,adt7316
- Move to EXPORT_GPL_SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS() and pm_sleep_ptr() so the compiler
can cleanly drop unused pm structures and callbacks.
adi,adxl345
- Relax build constraint vs the driver that is in input so both may be
built as modules and selection made at runtime.
adi,adxl380
- Make sure we don't read tail entries in the hardware fifo if a partial
  new scan has been written.
- Move to a single larger regmap_noinc_read() to read the hardware fifo.
aspeed,ast2600
- Add missing interrupts property to DT binding.
bosch,bmi270_i2c
- Add missing MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() macros so auto probing of modules can
  work.
bosch,smi330
- Drop duplicate assignment of IIO_TYPE in smi330_read_avail()
- Use new common field_get() and field_prep() helpers to replace local
  version.
honeywell,mprls0025pa
Fixes delayed to merge window as late in cycle and we didn't want to delay
  the rest of the series.
- Allow Kconfig selection of specific bus sub-drivers rather than tying that
to the buses themselves being supported.
- Zero spi_transfer structure to avoid chance of unintentionally set fields
  effecting transfer.
- Fix a potential timing violation wrt to the chip select to first clock
  edge timing.
- As recent driver, take risk inherent in dropping interrupt direction from
driver as that should be set by firmware.
- Fix wrong reported number of data bits for channel.
- Fix a pressure channel calculation bug.
- Rework to allow embedding the tx buffer in the iio_priv() structure rather
  than requiring separate allocation.
- Move the buffer clearing to the shared core bringing it into affect for
  SPI as well as I2C.
- Stricter checks for status byte.
- Greatly simplify the measurement sequence.
- Add a copyright entry to reflect Petre's continued work on this driver.
intersil,isl29018
- Switch from spritnf to sysfs_emit_at() to make it clear overflow can't
  occur.
invensense,icm42600
- Allow sysfs access to temperature when buffered capture in use as it
does not impact other sensor data paths.
invensense,itg3200
- Check unused return value in read_raw() callback.
men,z188
- Drop now duplicated module alias.
rf-digital,rfd77402
- Add DT binding doc and explicit of_device_id table.
- Poll for timeout with times as on datasheet, then replace opencoded
  version with read_poll_timeout().
sensiron,scd4x
- Add missing timestamp channel. The code to push it to the buffer was there
but there was no way to turn it on.
vti,sca3000
- Fix resource leak if iio_device_register() fails.

978d28136c iio: dac: ad3552r-hs: fix out-of-bound write in ad3552r_hs_write_data_source
When simple_write_to_buffer() succeeds, it returns the number of bytes
actually copied to the buffer. The code incorrectly uses 'count'
as the index for null termination instead of the actual bytes copied.
If count exceeds the buffer size, this leads to out-of-bounds write.
Add a check for the count and use the return value as the index.

The bug was validated using a demo module that mirrors the original
code and was tested under QEMU.

Pattern of the bug:
- A fixed 64-byte stack buffer is filled using count.
- If count > 64, the code still does buf[count] = '\0', causing an
- out-of-bounds write on the stack.

Steps for reproduce:
- Opens the device node.
- Writes 128 bytes of A to it.
- This overflows the 64-byte stack buffer and KASAN reports the OOB.

Found via static analysis. This is similar to the
commit da9374819e ("iio: backend: fix out-of-bound write")

IIO: New device support, features and cleanup for 6.18

New device support
==================

ad,ade9000
- New driver for this complex energy and power monitoring ADC.
infineon,tlv493d
- New driver for this 3D magnetic sensor.
intel,dollar
- New driver for this TI PMIC (part number unknown)
marvel,88pm886
- Driver for this PMIC ADC.
microchip,mcp9600
- Add explicit support for the mcp9601 which has some additional features
  over the mcp9600.
rohm,bd79112
- New driver for this ADC / GPIO Chip.

Features
========
Core
- New helper to multiply data expressed in IIO types.
- Add KUnit tests.
- New IIO_ALTCURRENT type, similar to existing IIO_ALTVOLTAGE
- Add some channel modifiers related to energy and power, such as
  reactive.
adi,ad7124
- Support external clocks sources and output of the internal clocks.
- Filter control.
adi,ad7173
- Add filter support. Some fiddly interactions with other parameters on this
  device.
adi,ad7779
- Add backend support which required control of the number of lanes used.
liteon,ltr390
- Add runtime PM support.
microchip,mcp9600
- Add support for different thermocouple types.

Cleanup and minor fixes
=======================

core
- Switch info_mask fields to be unsigned. Not clear why they were ever
  signed.
- Fix handling of negative channel scale in iio_convert_raw_to_processed()
- Fix offset handling for channels without a scale attribute.
- Improve the precision of scaling slightly.
- Drop apparent handling of IIO_CHAN_INFO_PROCESSED for devices that don't
  have any such channels.
various
- Drop many pm_runtime_mark_last_busy() calls now
  pm_runtime_put_autosuspend() calls it internally.
- Drop dev_err_probe() calls where the error code is hard coded as -ENOMEM
  as they don't do anything.
- Drop dev_err() calls where the error code is -ENOMEM. This will reduce
error prints, but memory failures generate a lot of messages anyway
so unlikely we need these prints.
current-sense-amplifier
- Add #io-channels property this channel to be used by a consumer driver.
adi,ad7124
- Fix incorrect clocks dt-binding property.
- Make the mclk clock optional in DT - this is internal to the ADC so should
never have been in he binding.
- Fix up sample rate to comply with ABI.
- Use read_avail() callback rather than opencoding similar.
- Deploy guard() to clean up some lock handling.
adi,ad7768
- Use devm_regulator_get_enable_read_voltage() to replace similar code.
adi,ad7816
- Drop an unnecessary dev_set_drvdata() call as nothing uses the data.
ad,adxl345
- Fix missing blank line before bullet list in documentation.
arm,scmi
- Use devm_kcalloc() for an array allocation rather than devm_kzalloc().
bosch,bmi270
- Match an ACPI ID seen in the wild. It is not spec compliant but we can't
  do much about that.
bosch,bmp280
- Drop overly noisy dev_info()
- Allow for sleeping gpio controllers.
gogle,cros-ec
- Drop unused location attribute that has been replaced by label.
invense,icm42600
- Simplify the power management.
- Use guard() to simplify some locking.
maxim,max1238
- Add io-channel-cells property to dt-binding as there is an in tree
  consumer.
microchip,mcp9600
- Specify a default value in dt-binding for the thermocouple type
- General whitespace cleanup.
samsung,exynos
- Drop support for the S3C2410 including bindings, and touchscreen support
  as nothing else uses that.
- Drop platform ID based binding as not used.
st,vl53l0x
- Fix returning the wrong variable in an error path.
ti,pac1934
- Replace open coded devm_mutex_init().
xilinx,ams
- Update maintainers entry.

Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"This is the usual collection of primarily clk driver updates.

The big part of the diff is all the new Qualcomm clk drivers added for
a few SoCs they're working on. The other two vendors with significant
work this cycle are Renesas and Amlogic. Renesas adds a bunch of clks
to existing drivers and supports some new SoCs while Amlogic is
starting a significant refactoring to simplify their code.

The core framework gained a pair of helpers to get the 'struct device'
or 'struct device_node' associated with a 'struct clk_hw'. Some
associated KUnit tests were added for these simple helpers as well.

Beyond that core change there are lots of little fixes throughout the
clk drivers for the stuff we see every day, wrong clk driver data that
affects tree topology or supported frequencies, etc. They're not found
until the clks are actually used by some consumer device driver.

  New Drivers:
   - Global, display, gpu, video, camera, tcsr, and rpmh clock
controller for the Qualcomm Milos SoC
   - Camera, display, GPU, and video clock controllers for Qualcomm
     QCS615
   - Video clock controller driver for Qualcomm SM6350
   - Camera clock controller driver for Qualcomm SC8180X
   - I3C clocks and resets on Renesas RZ/G3E
   - Expanded Serial Peripheral Interface (xSPI) clocks and resets on
     Renesas RZ/V2H(P) and RZ/V2N
   - SPI (RSPI) clocks and resets on Renesas RZ/V2H(P)
   - SDHI and I2C clocks on Renesas RZ/T2H and RZ/N2H
   - Ethernet clocks and resets on Renesas RZ/G3E
   - Initial support for the Renesas RZ/T2H (R9A09G077) and RZ/N2H
     (R9A09G087) SoCs
   - Ethernet clocks and resets on Renesas RZ/V2H and RZ/V2N
   - Timer, I2C, watchdog, GPU, and USB2.0 clocks and resets on Renesas
     RZ/V2N

  Updates:
   - Support atomic PWMs in the PWM clk driver
   - clk_hw_get_dev() and clk_hw_get_of_node() helpers
   - Replace round_rate() with determine_rate() in various clk drivers
   - Convert clk DT bindings to DT schema format for DT validation
   - Various clk driver cleanups and refactorings from static analysis
     tools and possibly real humans
   - A lot of little fixes here and there to things like clk tree
topology, missing frequencies, flagging clks as critical, etc"

1131e70558 iio: dac: ad3530r: Fix incorrect masking for channels 4-7 in powerdown mode
In the current implementation of ad3530r_set_dac_powerdown() function,
the macro AD3530R_OP_MODE_CHAN_MSK(chan->channel) is used to generate
the bitmask for the operating mode of a specific channel. However, this
macro does not account for channels 4-7, which map to the second
register AD3530R_OUTPUT_OPERATING_MODE_1 for the 8 channeled device. As
a result, the bitmask is incorrectly calculated for these channels,
leading to improper configuration of the powerdown mode. Resolve this
issue by adjusting the channel index for channels 4-7 by subtracting 4
before applying the macro. This ensures that the correct bitmask is
generated for the second register.

device_driver`). It is also more readable this way. Remove these macro
definitions and instead use the string literal directly.

0ca7cb7089 Merge tag 'iio-for-6.16a-take2' of ssh://gitolite.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio into char-misc-next
Jonathan writes:

IIO: New device support, features and cleanup for 6.16 - take 2

Note - last minute rebase was to drop a typo patch that I'd accidentally
picked up (in the microblaze arch Kconfig)
Take 2 is due to that rebase messing up some fixes tags that were
referring to patches after that point.

There is a known merge conflict due to changes in neighbouring lines.

Stephen's resolution in linux-next is:
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-next/20250506155728.65605bae@canb.auug.org.au/

Added 3 named IIO reviewers to MAINTAINERS. This is a reflection of those
who have been doing much of this work for some time. Lars-Peter is
removed from the entry having moved on to other topics. Thanks
Nuno, David and Andy for stepping up and Lars-Peter for all your
hard work in the past!

Includes the usual mix of new device support, features and general
cleanup.

This time we also have some tree wide changes.

- Rip out the iio_device_claim_direct_scoped() as it proved hard to work
with. This series includes quite a few related cleanups such as use
of guard or factoring code out to allow direct returns.
- Switch from iio_device_claim/release_direct_mode() to new
iio_device_claim/release_direct() which is structured so that sparse
can warn on failed releases. There were a few false positives but
those were mostly in code that benefited from being cleaned up as part
  of this process.
- Introduce iio_push_to_buffers_with_ts() to replace the _timestamp()
version over time. This version takes the size of the supplied buffer
which the core checks is at least as big as expected by calculation
from channel descriptions of those channels enabled. Use this in
  an initial set of drivers.
- Add macros for IIO_DECLARE_BUFFER_WITH_TS() and
IIO_DECLARE_DMA_BUFFER_WITH_TS() to avoid lots of fiddly code to ensure
correctly aligned buffers for timestamps being added onto the end of
  channel data.

New device support

functionality of the already supported bd79703. Included making this
driver suitable for support device variants.
st,stm32-lptimer
- Add support for stm32pm25 to this trigger.

Features
--------

Beyond IIO
- Property iterator for named children.
core
- Enable writes for 64 bit integers used for standard IIO ABI elements.
Previously these could be read only.
- Helper library that should avoid code duplication for simpler ADC
bindings that have a child node per channel.
- Enforce that IIO_DMA_MINALIGN is always at least 8 (almost always true
and simplifies code on all significant architectures)
core/backend
- Add support to control source of data - useful when the HDL includes
things like generated ramps for testing purposes. Enable this for
  adi-axi-dac
adi,ad3552-hs
- Add debugfs related callbacks to allow debug access to register contents.
adi,ad4000
- Support SPI offload with appropriate FPGA firmware along with improving
  documentation.
adi,ad7293
- Add support for external reference voltage.
adi,ad7606
- Support SPI offload.
adi,ad7768-1
- Support reset GPIO.
adi,admv8818
- Support filter frequencies beyond 2^32.
adi,adxl345
- Add single and double tap events.
hid-sensor-prox
- Support 16-bit report sizes as seen on some Intel platforms.
invensense,icm42600
- Enable use of named interrupts to avoid problems with some wiring choices.
Get the interrupt by name, but fallback to previous assumption on the first
being INT1 if no names are supplied.
microchip,mcp3911
- Add reset gpio support.
rohm,bh7150
- Add reset gpio support.
st,stm32
- Add support to control oversampling.
ti,adc128s052
- Add support for ROHM BD79104 which is early compatible with the TI
parts already supported by this driver. Includes some general driver
cleanup and a separate dt binding.
- Simplify reference voltage handling by assuming it is fixed after enabling
  the supply.
winsen,mhz19b
- New driver for this C02 sensor.

Cleanup and minor fixes
-----------------------

dt-bindings
- Correct indentation and style for DTS examples.
- Use unevalutateProperties for SPI devices instead of additionalProperties
to allow generic SPI properties from spi-peripheral-props.yaml
ABI Docs
- Add missing docs for sampling_frequency when it applies only to events.
Treewide
- Various minor tweaks, comment fixes and similar.
- Sort TI ADCs in Kconfig that had gotten out of order.
- Switch various drives that provide GPIO chip functionality to the new
  callbacks with return values.
- Standardize on { } formatting for all array sentinels.
- Make use of aligned_s64 in a few places to replace either wrong types
  or manually defined equivalents.
- Drop places where spi bits_per_word is set to 8 because that is the
  default anyway.

adi,ad_sigma_delta library
- Avoid a potential use of uninitialized data if reg_size has a value
that is not supported (no drivers hit this but it is reasonable hardening)
adi,ad4030
- Add error checking for scan types and no longer store it in state.
- Rework code to reduce duplication.
- Move setting the mode from buffer preenable() to update_scan_mode(),
better matching expected semantics of the two different callbacks.
- Improve data marshalling comments.
adi,ad4695
- Use u16 for buffer elements as oversampling is not yet supported except
with SPI offload (which doesn't use this path).
adi,ad5592r
- Clean up destruction of mutexes.
- Use lock guards to simplify code (later patch fixes a missed unlock)
adi,ad5933
- Correct some incorrect settling times.
adi,ad7091
- Deduplicate handling of writable vs volatile registers as they are the
inverse of each other for this device.
adi,ad7124
- Fix 3db Filter frequency.
- Remove ability to directly write the filter frequency (which was broken)
- Register naming improvements.
adi,ad7606
- Add a missing return value check.
- Fill in max sampling rates for all chips.
- Use devm_mutex_init()
- Fix up some kernel-doc formatting issues.
- Remove some camel case that snuck in.
- Drop setting address field in channels as easily established from other
  fields.
- Drop unnecessary parameter to ad76060_scale_setup_cb_t.
adi,ad7768-1
- Convert to regmap.
- Factor out buffer allocation.
- Tidy up headers.
adi,ad7944
- Stop setting bits_per_word in SPI xfers with no data.
adi,ad9832
- Add of_device_id table rather than just relying on fallbacks.
- Use FIELD_PREP() to set values of fields.
adi,admv1013
- Cleanup a pointless ternary.
adi,admv8818
- Fix up LPF Band 5 frequency which was slightly wrong.
- Fix an integer overflow.
- Fix range calculation
adi,adt7316
- Replace irqd_get_trigger_type(irq_get_irq_data()) with simpler
  irq_get_trigger_type()
adi,adxl345
- Use regmap cache instead of various state variables that were there to
  reduce bus accesses.
- Make regmap return value checking consistent across all call sites.
adi,axi-dac
- Add a check on number of channels (0 to 15 valid)
allwinner,sun20i
- Use new adc-helpers to replace local parsing code for channel nodes.
bosch,bmp290
- Move to local variables for sensor data marshalling removing the need
for a messy definition that has to work for all supported parts.
Follow up fix adds a missing initialization.
dynaimage,al3010 and dynaimage,al3320a
- Various minor cleanup to bring these drivers inline with reviewed feedback
  given on a new driver.
- Fix an error path in which power down is not called when it should be.
- Switch to regmap.
google,cros_ec
- Fix up a flexible array in middle of structure warning.
- Flush fifo when changing the timeout to avoid potential long wait
  for samples.
hid-sensor-rotation
- Remove an __aligned(16) marking that doesn't seem to be justified.
kionix,kxcjk-1013
- Deduplicate code for setting up interrupts.
microchip,mcp3911
- Fix handling of conversion results register which differs across supported
  devices.
idt,zopt2201
- Avoid duplicating register lists as all volatile registers are the
inverse of writeable registers on this device.
renesas,rzg2l
- Use new adc-helpers to replace local parsing code for channel nodes.
ti,ads1298
- Fix a missing Kconfig dependency.
