32b70e6203 selftests: tc_actions: don't dump 2MB of \0 to stdout
Since we started running selftests in NIPA we have been seeing
tc_actions.sh generate a soft lockup warning on ~20% of the runs.
On the pre-netdev foundation setup it was actually a missed irq
splat from the console. Now it's either that or a lockup.

I initially suspected a socket locking issue since the test
is exercising local loopback with act_mirred.
After hours of staring at this I noticed in strace that ncat
when -o $file is specified _both_ saves the output to the file
and still prints it to stdout. Because the file being sent
is constructed with:

  dd conv=sparse status=none if=/dev/zero bs=1M count=2 of=$mirred
                                ^^^^^^^^^

the data printed is all \0. Most terminals don't display nul
characters (and neither does vng output capture save them).
But QEMU's serial console still has to poke them thru which
is very slow and causes the lockup (if the file is >600kB).

Replace the '-o $file' with '> $file'. This speeds the test up
from 2m20s to 18s on debug kernels, and prevents the warnings.

a8c198d16c selftests: forwarding: fix pedit tests failure with br_netfilter enabled
The tests use the tc pedit action to modify the IPv4 source address
("pedit ex munge ip src set"), but the IP header checksum is not
recalculated after the modification. As a result, the modified packet
fails sanity checks in br_netfilter after bridging and is dropped,
which causes the test to fail.

Fix this by ensuring net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables is set to 0
during the test execution. This prevents the bridge from passing
L2 traffic to netfilter, bypassing the checksum validation that
causes the test failure.

ce9f6aec0f selftests: forwarding: vxlan_bridge_1d_ipv6: fix test failure with br_netfilter enabled
The test generates VXLAN traffic using mausezahn, where the encapsulated
inner IPv6 packet has an incorrect payload length set in the IPv6 header.
After VXLAN decapsulation, such packets do not pass sanity checks in
br_netfilter and are dropped, which causes the test to fail.

Fix this by setting the correct IPv6 payload length for the encapsulated
packet generated by mausezahn, so that the packet is accepted
by br_netfilter.

payload_template_expand_checksum() helpers that are only available
in v6.3 and newer kernels.

removed the spurious space after msg type in PTP info, e.g.:

Update our patterns to match both.

514520b34b selftests: forwarding: vxlan_bridge_1q_mc_ul: Drop useless sleeping
After fixing traffic matching in the previous patch, the test does not need
to use the sleep anymore. So drop vx_wait() altogether, migrate all callers
of vx{10,20}_create_wait() to the corresponding _create(), and drop the now
unused _create_wait() helpers.

0c8b9a68b3 selftests: forwarding: vxlan_bridge_1q_mc_ul: Fix flakiness
This test runs an overlay traffic, forwarded over a multicast-routed VXLAN
underlay. In order to determine whether packets reach their intended
destination, it uses a TC match. For convenience, it uses a flower match,
which however does not allow matching on the encapsulated packet. So
various service traffic ends up being indistinguishable from the test
packets, and ends up confusing the test. To alleviate the problem, the test
uses sleep to allow the necessary service traffic to run and clear the
channel, before running the test traffic. This worked for a while, but
lately we have nevertheless seen flakiness of the test in the CI.

Fix the issue by using u32 to match the encapsulated packet as well. The
confusing packets seem to always be IPv6 multicast listener reports.
Realistically they could be ARP or other ICMP6 traffic as well. Therefore
look for ethertype IPv4 in the IPv4 traffic test, and for IPv6 / UDP
combination in the IPv6 traffic test.

bed22c7b90 selftests: net: lib: Do not overwrite error messages
ret_set_ksft_status() calls ksft_status_merge() with the current return
status and the last one. It treats a non-zero return code from
ksft_status_merge() as an indication that the return status was
overwritten by the last one and therefore overwrites the return message
with the last one.

Currently, ksft_status_merge() returns a non-zero return code even if
the current return status and the last one are equal. This results in
return messages being overwritten which is counter-productive since we
are more interested in the first failure message and not the last one.

Fix by changing ksft_status_merge() to only return a non-zero return
code if the current return status was actually changed.

Add a test case which checks that the first error message is not
overwritten.

Before:

57531b3416 selftests: net: local_termination: Wait for interfaces to come up
It seems that most of the tests prepare the interfaces once before the test
run (setup_prepare()), rely on setup_wait() to wait for link and only then
run the test(s).

local_termination brings the physical interfaces down and up during test
run but never wait for them to come up. If the auto-negotiation takes
some seconds, first test packets are being lost, which leads to
false-negative test results.

Use setup_wait() in run_test() to make sure auto-negotiation has been
completed after all simple_if_init() calls on physical interfaces and test
packets will not be lost because of the race against link establishment.

f07f91a360 selftests: net: unify the Makefile formats
We get a significant number of conflicts between net and net-next
because of selftests Makefile changes. People tend to append new
test cases at the end of the Makefile when there's no clear sort
order. Sort all networking selftests Makefiles, use the following
format:

 VAR_NAME := \
	 entry1 \
	 entry2 \
	 entry3 \
 # end of VAR_NAME

Some Makefiles are already pretty close to this.

50d51cef55 selftests: forwarding: Reorder (ar)ping arguments to obey POSIX getopt
Quoted from musl wiki:

  GNU getopt permutes argv to pull options to the front, ahead of
  non-option arguments. musl and the POSIX standard getopt stop
  processing options at the first non-option argument with no
  permutation.

Thus these scripts stop working on musl since non-option arguments for
tools using getopt() (in this case, (ar)ping) do not always come last.
Fix it by reordering arguments.

Add comprehensive selftest to verify:
- Per-port actor priority setting via ad_actor_port_prio
- Aggregator selection behavior with port_priority ad_select policy

Also move cmd_jq helper from forwarding/lib.sh to net/lib.sh for
broader reusability across network selftests.

b7863babce selftests: forwarding: lib: Split setup_wait()
setup_wait() takes an optional argument and then is called from the top
level of the test script. That confuses shellcheck, which thinks that maybe
the intention is to pass $1 of the script to the function, which is never
the case. To avoid having to annotate every single new test with a SC
disable, split the function in two: one that takes a mandatory argument,
and one that takes no argument at all.

Convert the two existing users of that optional argument, both in Spectrum
resource selftest, to use the new form. Clean up vxlan_bridge_1q_mc_ul.sh
to not pass a now-unused argument.

237f84a6d2 selftests: forwarding: adf_mcd_start(): Allow configuring custom interfaces
Tests may wish to add other interfaces to listen on. Notably locally
generated traffic uses dummy interfaces. The multicast daemon needs to know
about these so that it allows forming rules that involve these interfaces,
and so that net.ipv4.conf.X.mc_forwarding is set for the interfaces.

To that end, allow passing in a list of interfaces to configure in addition
to all the physical ones.

2a719b7bac selftests: forwarding: lib: Move smcrouted helpers here
router_multicast.sh has several helpers for work with smcrouted. Extract
them to lib.sh so that other selftests can use them as well. Convert the
helpers to defer in the process, because that simplifies the interface
quite a bit. Therefore have router_multicast.sh invoke
defer_scopes_cleanup() in its cleanup() function.

4eb9da050f selftests: net: tc_taprio: new test
Add a forwarding path test for tc-taprio, based on isochron. This is
specifically intended for NICs with an offloaded data path (switchdev/DSA)
and requires taprio 'flags 2'. Also, $h1 and $h2 must support hardware
timestamping, and $h1 tc-etf offload, for isochron to work.

Packets received by a switch while the egress port has a taprio schedule
with an open gate for the traffic class must be sent right away.

Packets received by the switch while the traffic class gate must be
delayed until it opens.

Packets received by the switch must be dropped if the gate for the
traffic class never opens.

Packets should pass if the maximum SDU for the traffic class allows it,
and should be dropped otherwise.

The schedule should auto-update itself if clock jumps take place while
taprio is installed. Repeat most of the above tests after forcing two
clock jumps, one backwards (in Jan 1970) and one back into the present.

Symlink it from tools/testing/selftests/drivers/net/dsa, because usually
DSA ports have the same MAC address, and we need STABLE_MAC_ADDRS=yes
from its forwarding.config for the test to run successfully.

f52fe6efd6 selftests: net: tsn_lib: add window_size argument to isochron_do()
Make out-of-band testing (send a packet when its traffic class gate is
closed, expecting it to be delayed) more predictable by allowing the
window size to be customized by isochron_do().

From man isochron-send, the window size alters the advance time (the
delta between the transmission time of the packet, and its expected TX
time when using SO_TXTIME or tc-taprio on the sender). In absence of the
argument, isochron-send defaults to maximizing the advance time (making
it equal to the cycle length).

The default behavior is exactly what is problematic. An advance time
that is too large will make packets intended to be out-of-band still be
potentially in-band with an open gate from the schedule's previous cycle.
We need to allow that advance time to be reduced.

Perhaps a bit confusingly, isochron_do() has a shift_time argument
currently, but that does not help here. The shift time shifts both the
user space wakeup time and the expected TX time by equal amounts, it is
unable of bringing them closer to one another.

Set the window size properly for the Ocelot PSFP selftest as well.
That used to work due to a very carefully chosen SHIFT_TIME_NS.
I've re-tested that the test still works properly.

bf9de1dcd0 selftests: net: bridge_vlan_aware: test untagged/8021p-tagged with and without PVID
Recent discussions around commit ad1afb0039 ("vlan_dev: VLAN 0 should
be treated as "no vlan tag" (802.1p packet)") have sparked the question
what happens with the DSA (and possibly other switchdev) data path when
the bridge says that ports should have no PVID VLAN, but the 8021q
module, as the result of a NETDEV_UP event, decides it should add VID 0
to the RX filter of those bridge ports. Do those bridge ports receive
packets tagged with VID 0 or not, now? We don't know, there is no test.

In the veth realm, this passes trivially, because veth is not VLAN
filtering and this, the 8021q module lacks the instinct to add VID 0 in
the first place.

In the realm of VLAN filtering NICs with no switchdev offload, this
should also pass, because the VLAN groups of the software bridge are
consulted, where it can clearly be seen that a PVID is missing, even
though the packet was initially accepted by the NIC.

The test only poses a challenge for switchdev drivers, which usually
have to program to hardware both VLANs from RX filtering, as well as
from switchdev. Especially when a switchdev port joins a VLAN-aware
bridge, it is unavoidable that it gains the NETIF_F_HW_VLAN_CTAG_FILTER
feature, i.e. any 8021q uppers that the bridge port may have must also
be committed to the RX filtering table of the interface. When a
VLAN-tagged packet is physically received by the port, it is initially
indistinguishable whether it will reach the bridge data path or the
8021q upper data path.

That is rather the final step of the new tests that we introduce.
We need to build context up to that stage, which means the following:

- we need to test that 802.1p (VID 0) tagged traffic is received in the
  first place (on bridge ports with a valid PVID). This is the "8021p"
  test.

- we need to test that the usual paths of reaching a configuration with
  no PVID on a bridge port are all covered and they all reach the same
  state.
