Pull ARM SoC platform updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This release brings up a new platform based on the old ARM9 core: the
Nuvoton NPCM is used as a baseboard management controller, competing
with the better known ASpeed AST2xx series.

Another important change is the addition of ARMv7-A based chips in
mach-stm32. The older parts in this platform are ARMv7-M based
microcontrollers, now they are expanding to general-purpose workloads.

The other changes are the usual defconfig updates to enable additional
drivers, lesser bugfixes. The largest updates as often are the ongoing
OMAP cleanups, but we also have a number of changes for the older PXA
  and davinci platforms this time.

For the Renesas shmobile/r-car platform, some new infrastructure is
needed to make the watchdog work correctly.

Supporting Multiprocessing on Allwinner A80 required a significant
amount of new code, but is not doing anything unexpected"

8591743f12 ARM: sunxi: mc-smp: Use DT enable-method for sun9i A80 SMP
Instead of having an early init function check the machine compatible
and installing multi-cluster SMP support for the A80 if it matches,
use a new cpu enable-method string. This makes the platform support
future proof in case anyone manages to add PSCI support.

The original init code for the SMP support is changed into the
.prepare_cpus callback in the smp_operations structure. Instead of
panicing when resources are missing like on some platforms, our code
merely guards against engaging SMP or CPU hotplug and returns an error.

Pull ARM device-tree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"Device-tree continues to see lots of updates. The majority of patches
here are smaller changes for new hardware on existing platforms, and
there are a few larger changes worth pointing out.

  New machines:

   - The new Action Semi S500 platform is added along with initial
support for the LeMaker Guitar board.

   - STM32 gains support for three new boards: stm32h743-disco,
stm32f746-disco, and stm32f769-disco, along with new device support
     for the existing stm32f429 boards.

   - Renesas adds two new boards, the tiny GR-Peach based on RZ/A1H with
     10MB on-chip SRAM, and the iWave G20D-Q7 System-on-Module plus
     board.

   - On Marvell "mvebu", we gain support for the Linksys WRT3200ACM
     wireless router.

   - For NXP i.MX, we gain support for the Gateworks Ventana GW5600 and
the Technexion Pico i.MX7D single-board computers.

   - The BeagleBone Blue is added for OMAP, it's the latest variation of
the popular Beaglebone Black single-board computer.

   - The Allwinner based Lichee Pi Zero and NanoPi M1 Plus boards are
added, these are the latest variations of a seemingly endless
     supply of similar single-board computers.

  Other updates:

   - Linus Walleij improves support for the "Faraday" based SoC
platforms from various SoC makers (Moxart, Aspeed, Gemini)

   - The ARM Mali GPU is now describe on Rockchips SoCs

   - Mediatek MT7623 is extended significantly, making it much more
     useful.

   - Lots of individual updates on Renesas, OMAP, Rockchips, Broadcom,
     Allwinner, Qualcomm, iMX

   - For Amlogic, the clock support is extended a lot on meson8b.

   - We now build the devicetree file for the Raspberry Pi 3 on 32-bit
ARM, in addition to the existing ARM64 support, to help users
wanting to run a 32-bit system on it"

db88977894 arm: mvebu: support for SMP on 98DX3336 SoC
Compared to the armada-xp the 98DX3336 uses different registers to set

de42fe116d Documentation: arm: define DT cpu capacity-dmips-mhz bindings
ARM systems may be configured to have cpus with different power/performance
characteristics within the same chip. In this case, additional information
has to be made available to the kernel (the scheduler in particular) for it
to be aware of such differences and take decisions accordingly.

Therefore, this patch aims at standardizing cpu capacities device tree
bindings for ARM platforms. Bindings define cpu capacity-dmips-mhz
parameter, to allow operating systems to retrieve such information from
the device tree and initialize related kernel structures, paving the way
for common code in the kernel to deal with heterogeneity.

500d336669 Documentation: Binding docs for bcm11351 enable method
Commit 84320e1a63
("ARM: BCM: Clean up SMP support for Broadcom Kona") moved the
"secondary-boot-reg" property from the "cpus" node to the individual "cpu"
nodes but negelected to update brcm,bcm11351-cpu-method.txt to match.

bcm11351-cpu-method was apparently never added to the list of methods in
bindings/arm/cpus.txt.

bindings/arm/cpus.txt states that "enable-method" should be a property of
the "cpu" node rather than the "cpus" node.

This patch rectifies these two omissions and one inconsistency.

978fa43623 drivers: firmware: psci: unify enable-method binding on ARM {64,32}-bit systems
Currently ARM CPUs DT bindings allows different enable-method value for
PSCI based systems. On ARM 64-bit this property is required and must be
"psci" while on ARM 32-bit systems this property is optional and must
be "arm,psci" if present.

However, "arm, psci" has always been the compatible string for the PSCI
node, and was never intended to be the enable-method. So this is a bug
in the binding and not a deliberate attempt at specifying 32-bit
differently.

This is problematic if 32-bit OS is run on 64-bit system which has
"psci" as enable-method rather than the expected "arm, psci".

So let's unify the value into "psci" and remove support for "arm, psci"
before it finds any users.

5420b4b156 ARM: realview: add an DT SMP boot method
This adds an SMP boot method for the ARM RealView reference
designs. We also select HAVE_SMP by default and make it use
SMP_ON_UP so we only need to support one single kernel across
the RealView reference designs when using DT.

The RealViews need to have the SCU (Snoop Control Unit)
activated on boot, and this is now done by looking up its
address from the device tree and initializing it and counting
the available cores.

The RealViews boot by using a magic address register in the
system controller (SYS_FLAGS) to store the boot address,
the ROM will then read this register to the PC when the CPUs
are taken out of WFI. This code uses a handle to the syscon
regmap to access this register.

9def7ccfe8 ARM: rockchip: add support smp for rk3036
The dual-core Cortex A7 rk3036 is a bit special in that it does not allow
to control the actual powerdomain of the cpu cores, while the rest of the
smp-bringup like reset control and entry address handling stays the same.
Its bigger sibling, the quad-core rk3128 again allows powerdomain control.

So allow that case by introducing a separate smp-enable-method, that simply
disables powerdomain handling in the common code.

bf64dd262e ARM: ux500: add an SMP enablement type and move cpu nodes
The "cpus" node cannot be inside the "soc" node, while this
works for the CoreSight blocks, the early boot code will look
for "cpus" directly under the root node, so this is a hard

Augment the "reg" property to match what is actually in the

6de2d21ada ARM: rockchip: add option to access the pmu via a phandle in smp_operations
Makes it possible to define a rockchip, pmu phandle in the cpus node directly
referencing the pmu syscon instead of searching for specific compatible.

The old way of finding the pmu stays of course available.

d5935b07da Merge tag 'arm64-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc
Pull ARM64 SoC changes from Arnd Bergmann:
"Starting with 3.18, we are merging SoC-specific changes for arm64
through the arm-soc tree, like we have been doing for arm32.

This time, there is only one set of changes, adding support for the
Cavium "Thunder" Soc family. Since the changes are relatively small,
this includes Kconfig, defconfig and DT changes.

If all goes well, we will never require adding actual C source code
for platform support in arm64, given that the architecture is more
clearly defined and we have moved out a lot of the platform specifics
into device drivers for arm32 already"

3f8161b260 Documentation: arm: define DT idle states bindings
ARM based platforms implement a variety of power management schemes that
allow processors to enter idle states at run-time.
The parameters defining these idle states vary on a per-platform basis forcing
the OS to hardcode the state parameters in platform specific static tables
whose size grows as the number of platforms supported in the kernel increases
and hampers device drivers standardization.

Therefore, this patch aims at standardizing idle state device tree bindings
for ARM platforms. Bindings define idle state parameters inclusive of entry
methods and state latencies, to allow operating systems to retrieve the
configuration entries from the device tree and initialize the related power
management drivers, paving the way for common code in the kernel to deal with
idle states and removing the need for static data in current and previous
kernel versions.

ARM64 platforms require the DT to define an entry-method property
for idle states.

On system implementing PSCI as an enable-method to enter low-power
states the PSCI CPU suspend method requires the power_state parameter to
be passed to the PSCI CPU suspend function.

This parameter is specific to a power state and platform specific,
therefore must be provided by firmware to the OS in order to enable
proper call sequence.

Thus, this patch also adds a property in the PSCI bindings that
describes how the PSCI CPU suspend power_state parameter should be
defined in DT in all device nodes that rely on PSCI CPU suspend method usage.
