Potentially unused definitions were discovered using: $ for m in $(grep '#define ' $header | sed -e 's,#define[ ]*\([^ ]*\)[ ].*,\1,;s,(.*,,'); do if ! grep -q $m *.c; then echo $m; fi; done Each was verified, and then removed where truly unused.
