Notice that skb_mark_for_recycle() is introduced later than fixes tag in commit6a5bcd84e8("page_pool: Allow drivers to hint on SKB recycling"). It is believed that fixes tag were missing a call to page_pool_release_page() between v5.9 to v5.14, after which is should have used skb_mark_for_recycle(). Since v6.6 the call page_pool_release_page() were removed (in commit535b9c61bd("net: page_pool: hide page_pool_release_page()") and remaining callers converted (in commit6bfef2ec01("Merge branch 'net-page_pool-remove-page_pool_release_page'")). This leak became visible in v6.8 via commitdba1b8a7ab("mm/page_pool: catch page_pool memory leaks"). Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
