87f67d1747 dt-bindings: thermal-zones: Document critical-action
Document the critical-action property to describe the thermal action
the OS should perform after the critical temperature is reached.

The possible values are "shutdown" and "reboot".

The motivation for introducing the critical-action property is that
different systems may need different thermal actions when the critical
temperature is reached.

For example, in a desktop PC, it is desired that a shutdown happens
after the critical temperature is reached.

However, in some embedded cases, such behavior does not suit well,
as the board may be unattended in the field and rebooting may be a
better approach.

The bootloader may also benefit from this new property as it can check
the SoC temperature and in case the temperature is above the critical
point, it can trigger a shutdown or reboot accordingly.

88071e31e9 dt-bindings: thermal: loongson,ls2k-thermal: Fix binding check issues
Add the missing 'thermal-sensor-cells' property which is required for
every thermal sensor as it's used when using phandles.
And add the thermal-sensor.yaml reference.

In fact, it was a careless mistake when submitting the driver that
caused it to not work properly. So the fix is necessary, although it
will result in the ABI break.

b1a1eaf618 Merge tag 'iio-for-6.8b' of https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio into char-misc-next
Jonathan writes:

IIO: 2nd set of new device support, features and cleanup for 6.8

A late/optimistic second pull request. The bots have been poking them
since Wednesday without any issues. There are a few fixes in the
ad7091r5 driver as part of rework to enable the ad7091r8 parts that
are included at start of that series.

Includes pre-work for major changes to the DMA buffers that should
land in 6.9 and will greatly improve performance and flexibility for
high performance devices by enabling DMABUF based zero copy transfers
when we don't need to bounce the data via user space.

New device support
------------------
adi,ad7091r8
 - Major refactor of existing adi,ad7091r5 driver to separate out useful
shared library code that can be used by I2C and SPI parts.
 - Use that library from a new driver supporting the AD7091R-2, AD7091R-4
   and AD7091R-8 12-Bit SPI ADCs.
 - Series includes some late breaking fixes for the ad7091r5.

microchip,mcp4821
 - New driver for MCP4801, MCP4802, MCP4811, MCP4812, MCP4821 and MCP4822
I2C single / dual channel DACs.

Cleanup
-------
buffers:
 - Use IIO_SEPARATE in place of some hard-coded 0 values.
dma-buffers:
 - Simplify things to not use an outgoing queue given it only ever has
up to two elements and we only need to track which is first.
 - Split the iio_dma_buffer_fileio_free() function up to make it easier
to read and enable reuse in a series lining up for 6.9
iio.h
 - Drop some stale documentation of struct fields that don't exist.

b91cf01cf3 dt-bindings: timer: thead,c900-aclint-mtimer: separate mtime and mtimecmp regs
The timer registers of aclint don't follow the clint layout and can
be mapped on any different offset. As sg2042 uses separated timer
and mswi for its clint, it should follow the aclint spec and have
separated registers.

The previous patch introduced a new type of T-HEAD aclint timer which
has clint timer layout. Although it has the clint timer layout, it
should follow the aclint spec and uses the separated mtime and mtimecmp
regs. So a ABI change is needed to make the timer fit the aclint spec.

To make T-HEAD aclint timer more closer to the aclint spec, use
regs-names to represent the mtimecmp register, which can avoid hack
for unsupport mtime register of T-HEAD aclint timer.

Also, as T-HEAD aclint only supports mtimecmp, it is unnecessary to
implement the whole aclint spec. To make this binding T-HEAD specific,
only add reg-name for existed register. For details, see the discussion
in the last link.

normally come through the char-misc tree, and one debugfs fix as well.

  Included in here are:

   - iio and hid sensor driver fixes for a number of small things

   - interconnect driver fixes

   - brcm_nvmem driver fixes

   - debugfs fix for previous fix

   - guard() definition in device.h so that many subsystems can start
using it for 6.8-rc1 (requested by Dan Williams to make future
     merges easier)

All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
  issues"

RISC-V SoC drivers for v6.8

There's only one set of changes here, the addition of "Auto Update"
support for PolarFire SoC. Auto Update is one of the ways that the FPGA
bitstream can be updated, and the only one suitable for use from Linux
as it does not immediately initiate a reboot when started.
The driver was not accepted in the FPGA manager subsystem as the update
only occurs after a reboot and makes no use of the FPGA manager
framework.

Samsung SoC driver changes for v6.8

1. Add support for Google GS101 SoC to different drivers: clock
   controller, serial and watchdog.

The clock driver changes depend on few bindings headers, which I put
in a topic branch with the bindings refactoring and GS101 support,
therefore this this pull request includes that bindings topic branch.

The rest of the bindings topic branch is not necessary here, however
keeping everything together makes it easier to share between
branches. The bindings topic branch is mostly refactoring all the
compatibles to add SoC-specific compatible followed by fallback.

2. Exynos ChipID: recognize ExynosAutov920.

Qualcomm driver updates for v6.8

Support for SM8650 and X1E is added to the LLCC driver, the
LLCC_TRP_ATTR2_CFGn register stride is corrected, and a bug where for
each iteration looping over slices previous settings for dis_cap_alloc
and retain_on_pc are overwritten.

A quirk is introduced in UCSI, for implementations that does not handle
UCSI_GET_PDOS for non-PD partners. With this, USCI support is enabled by
default in pmic_glink. It is later reverted for SC8280XP due reported
errors.

A few memory leaks in error paths of qseecom are taken care of.

A small driver to expose the ADSP PDCharger ULOG debug log is
introduced, to aid debugging issues with pmic_glink.

The identiy of SM8650, PM8937 and a few DSPs are added to the Qualcomm
socinfo driver.

The Qualcomm sleep stats driver is extended to allow getting detailed
statistics about usage of various DDR states. Unfortunately this ABI
does not seem to be stable across platforms, so this addition is dropped
again while the reported problems are investigated further.

RISC-V Devicetrees for v6.8

StarFive:
Key peripheral support for the jh7100 that depended on the non-standard
non-coherent DMA operations, namely mmc, sdcard and sdio wifi. This
platform has long been supported out of tree by Emil and Ubuntu etc ship
images for it, so having mainline support for a wider range of
peripherals (at last) is great.

Microchip:
The flash used by Auto Update support and the corresponding QSPI
controller are added. On publicly available Icicle kits this flash is
not usable (engineering sample silicon issues) but in the future Icicle
kits will be available that have production silicon.

T-Head:
Jisheng is busy with RL this cycle and hence T-Head appears here. The
Lichee Pi and BeagleV both grow eMMC and uSD support.

Sopgho:
Support for the Huashan Pi and the cv1812h SoC it uses. The cv1812h is
almost identical to the existing cv1800b SoC. These SoCs are intended
for use in IP camera type systems but also appear on SBCs, with the last
digit denoting the amount integrated DDR3 the device has. The difference
between the cv1812h and the existing cv180x devices appears to be the
addition of video output interfaces.
